QSMP-20 low-cost STM32MP2 solder-down SoM
Pin-compatible dual-core STM32MP235 module
QSMP-20 combines the cost-effectiveness associated with STM32MP1 series modules with the 64-bit performance of STM32MP2. Using DDR3L RAM, and maintaining a common pinout with QSMP-15, the new SoM provides a performance upgrade for just a couple of Euros uplift in price.
QSMP-20 is a 27mm x 27mm QFN Style solder-down system-on-modules with STM32MP235 processor which provides two ARM Cortex-A35 cores clocked at
1.2GHz, 4GB eMMC persistent memory and 512MB DDR3L RAM. The QSMP-20 module is square, with a height of 2.3mm. Its QS-standard pinout style features a 1mm pitch with 100 edge-located pads providing unparalleled miniaturisation, thermal efficiency and EMI minimisation – the base functions as both a ground pad and a thermal conductor. The module requires a single 3.3v supply.
The module’s STM32MP235 processor affords excellent support for touch-screen GUIs thanks to a powerful 3D GPU, and also includes a 0.6 TOPS NPU for machine learning applications. A full HD VPU supports video encode/decode. An additional internal ARM Cortex-M33 microcontroller core with FPU is included. A wide range of interfaces (see table) includes RGB and MIPI-DSI display interfaces, Gb Ethernet, SD/eMMC, USB Host/OTG, 3x UARTs, 3x I2C, 2x SPI, PWM, SAI and 2x CANbus . The module offers an extended temperature spec of -25C to +85C.
QSMP comes with a dedicated development system, equipped with Linux BSP.
