tx-reverse-160pxTX8P Module with i.MX8M Plus

Tiny, family-compatible module with with NXP i.MX8M Plus Quad ARM Cortex-A53 processor

TX8P is a tiny 68mm x 26mm SODIMM system-on-module with an NXP i.MX8M Mini system on moduleiMX8 processor, which is in turn part of the pin-compatible TX-Module i.MX6 / i.MX8 / i.MX9 module family. The TX8P is based on NXP’s i.MX8M Plus quad-core processor featuring four 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores running at  up to 1.6GHz, and a 2.3TOPS Machine Learning / AI neural processor as well as enhanced dual image processing pipelines, and DSP core.  The TX8P comes with 2048MB (optionally 4096MB)  LPDDR4, and  an 8GB (/32GB) eMMC. A second core complex features an ARM Cortex-M4F microcontroller, and comprehensive graphics capabilities are provided by powerful 3D and 2D GPUs. The module provides a wide range of connectivity including two Ethernet ports, two USB ports (including USB 3.0), LVDS and HDMI display, dual MIPI-CSI camera input, and many other interfaces. The i.MX8M Plus’s enhanced VPU provides 1080p decode and encode including H.265 support.

TX8P comes with mainline Linux.  The i.MX6 and i.MX8 based TX family modules all take a single 3.3 to 5.5v supply and provide an up to 300mA 3.3V power output for use on the baseboard.

The i.MX8M Plus based TX8P brings powerful 64-bit performance to the embedded user, in machine-learning, vision, advanced multimedia and general embedded consumer and industrial applications including medical devices, industrial  monitoring and control and smart buildings.

The TX8P is fully pin-compatible with the LVDS TX-Module family, however the module has its own development kit (in common with the LVDS version of the TX8M) so that the larger display and MIPI-CSI camera interface as well as a miniPCIe port can be accessed.

To meet users’ needs for a slightly larger, higher resolution display, we have incorporated a 10″ 1280 x 800 resolution touch screen. Other interfaces include:

  • Mini-PCIe expansion port
  • RJ45 Ethernet connector
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • 120-pin expansion header
  • MIPI-CSI camera port
  • micro-SD Card
