The EU Cyber Resilience Act comes into force at the end of 2027, and so development teams are naturally checking that chosen platforms are capable of compliance when the time comes so that they can continue to be CE marked and shipped within the EU.

At a practical level secure boot and secure updating must be supported and there must be software composition analysis which details an image free from significant exploitable vulnerabilities, plus a strategy for maintaining that. Most system-on-chips have an internal security capability including key storage, authentication and cryptography.
