Low-cost, full industrial temperature, 64-bit dual-core module

TXRZ is the latest tiny 68mm x 26mm SODIMM system-on-module in the TX-Module pin-compatible family, based on the Renesas RZ/G2L processor.  TXRZ features a powerful dual-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor running at up to 1200MHz.  The SoM is available in two versions –  with either 512MB or 1GB DDR3L – both offer a full industrial temperature specification of -40C to +85C, as well as 4GB eMMC Flash, and a dual 24-bit RGB / 4-Lane MIPI-DSI display output. There is an ARM MALI-G31 GPU for rich, touch-and-gesture GUI support as well as 1080P30 H.264 video decode and encode. Comprehensive connectivity is rounded off with dual Ethernet, dual CAN, SD/eMMC, dual USB, as well as up to 5x UARTs, 4x I2C ports and 3x SPI. There is a third MCU processor core based on an ARM Cortex-M33.

TXRZ comes with a Linux BSP with full sources and installable VM for development. In common with the rest of the pin-compatible TRITON-TX family, it requires a single 3.3 to 5.5v supply and provides an up to 300mA 3.3V power output for use on the baseboard.

The RZ/G2L-based TXRZ offers exceptional graphics and video performance, in a full temperature-range SoM, at a reasonable price, and is aimed at a broad range of industrial HMI solutions plus streaming video capture and display devices and audio systems.

Maintxmainboardloboard-7 provides a complete development environment based on TXRZ, running mainline Linux out-of-the-box. The development system consists of a baseboard which provides an unpopulated bank of 0.1″ headers for all 200 module pins (including PCIe), plus connectors for all the main module interfaces, and includes additional peripherals such as an SGTL5000 audio codec. Other connectors include USB, Ethernet, SDCard, CAN, RS-232 and RS-485. The Mainboard-7 offers an optional 640×480 capacitive touch screen, and an LVDS output to enable connection of other screen sizes. Please note that the kit uses the RGB display output – if you are thinking of using MIPI-DSI, please discuss this with us before purchase.

For production purposes, you will require a custom baseboard, and we are happy to offer baseboard design and manufacture as a service.
