How Direct Insight de-risks development

We base our approach in most (not all) projects on tried and tested system-on-module hardware, enhanced by OS-based firmware that we thoroughly understand and customise as required. We usually work with Yocto Linux or – for mission-critical or safety-certified projects – QNX.

Tried-and-tested modular platforms

For many applications, an ARM-based system-on-module provides an ideal platform. Get it wrong and it feels like a straitjacket binding you to someone else’s choices. Allow our huge experience, and longstanding trusted relationships with leading SoM vendors to guide you.

OS Complexity Challenges

Understanding, harnessing and being able to fine-tune OS implementation is vital. Being “let loose” with an unfamiliar combination of OS and hardware is where most projects are vulnerable to delay and the design-in of cost disadvantage and technical debt.
