Miriac® MPX-LS1043A system-on-module
Low-power, price sensitive communications module with NXP QorIQ LS1043A
Designed in Germany by our partner MicroSys, the MPX-LS1043A SoM is a cost-effective low energy class server module, combining a quad-core processor with 10GbE Ethernet and up to 4 10Gb/s SERDES lanes in total.

The Miriac MPX-LS1043A SoM allows OEMs to integrate the processor in low or medium volume, or NPI applications, bypassing the significant time and cost penalty associated with SoC integration, by providing ready-made hardware with associated BSPs, initially for Linux, and with others such as QNX and VXWorks in development. A simple customer baseboard – developed by the customer or by us – is all that is required to complete the project. Highly network-intensive applications include servers, medical scanners, software-defined vehicles and many other applications.
Miriac MPX-L1043A is a 314 pin SODIMM SoM, measuring 82mm x 62mm, powered by a single 5-12v supply. The module is pin-compatible with other members of the MicroSys MPX-2 module family. The module is available in both commercial and full industrial (-40C to +85C) temperature grades.

Software support includes Linux as standard, with other BSPs including QNX and VXWorks on request.

Guaranteed lifetime is a key reason to choose us – all MicroSys modules are guaranteed to be available for 15 years from launch. This is a minimum, with lifetimes expected to be expanded in line with NXP longevity policies. Direct Insight brought the first system-on-module to market in 1999, and has a unique track-record in maintaining partnership with our customers for the long-term, supporting you throughout the product life-cycle.
Because Miriac modules are manufactured in a high-quality small-batch production facility within the EU, there are never problems with manufacturing standards or with supply. If you order 100 modules and we don’t have them in stock, we will make them. Often, cheap modules are produced in large batches by volume-oriented contract manufacturers in the Far East, and once they are gone, they are gone.
Linux and QNX BSPs are developed within a small network of European specialists, including Direct Insight, They are production-ready and are designed so that you can use them without further development or modification. One of the key advantages of the system-on-module approach is rapid time-to-market, and requires a reliable, production-ready BSP, and a ready-to-roll compatible tools setup.
All Miriac modules are designed to be pin-compatible within their specific range, so you can change up or down to a different module in the same family.

NXP processors offer secure boot, which potentially allows the user to secure the device against code modification, while preserving the ability to update. This is achieved by programming public keys into the device, against which the private-key signed image and data are validated. We offer secure boot programming during manufacture to enable customers to easily secure their device.

The SBC baseboard delivers comprehensive connectivity when developing with the MPX-LS1043A module. The baseboard exposes high speed I/O including 3x GbE, 2x USB 3.0, SATA and two PCIe interfaces (one miniPCIe)
With a single 9-24v power input (supplied) and measuring 157mm x 86mm, the board ships with Linux pre-installed.
Additional interfaces include UART, 6x GPIO, miniUSB debug port, RGB LEDs and a temperature sensor.
The “Pro” version of the baseboard offers expanded connectivity including 1x 10GbE, 4x GbE and 8x TSN-enabled GbE ports, in addition to 2x USB 3.0 and a PCIe x2 / x1 interface.
With a single 9-36v power input (supplied) and measuring 220mm x 150mm, the board ships with Linux pre-installed.
Additional interfaces include 3xUART, I2C, FlexSPI, miniUSB debug port, RGB LEDs and a temperature sensor.
