tx-reverse-160pxTX8MN Module: Dual Core i.MX8M Nano

Very low-cost, family-compatible module with with NXP i.MX8M Nano Dual ARM Cortex-A53 processor

TX8MN is a tiny 68mm x 26mm SODIMM system-on-module based on NXP’s i.MX8M Mini system on moduleiMX8 processor, which is in turn part of the pin-compatible TX-Module family. The TX8MN is based on NXP’s i.MX8M Nano Dual processor featuring two 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores running at  up to 1.4GHz.  A sister product – the TX8MM – features a quad-core i.MX8M Mini. The TX8MN comes with 512MB DDR3L , and  a 4GB eMMC. A second core complex features an ARM Cortex-M7 microcontroller, and comprehensive graphics capabilities are provided by the same powerful 3D and 2D GPUs that power the rest of the i.MX8 family. The module provides a wide range of connectivity including Ethernet port, USB 2.0 ports, MIPI-CSI camera interface, MIPI-DSI display, and many other interfaces.

TX8MN comes with a production quality mainline Linux BSP.  A QNX 7.0 BSP is also under development. The TX-Module family all take a single 3.3 to 5.5v supply and provide an up to 300mA 3.3V power output for use on the baseboard.

The i.MX8M Nano  based TX8MN brings powerful yet extraordinarily cost-effective 64-bit performance to the embedded user, in general embedded consumer and industrial applications including medical devices, industrial  monitoring and control and smart buildings.

i.mx8 Mini DevKit
Because of its unique display interface, which offers only MIPI-DSI compatibility, the TX8MN, while maintaining pin-compatibility for all non-display functions, has its own display pinout, and therefore needs its own development kit.

To meet users’ needs for a slightly larger, higher resolution display, we have incorporated a 10.1″ 1280 x 800 resolution touch screen. Other interfaces include:

  • Mini-PCI expansion port
  • RJ45 Ethernet connector
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • 120-pin expansion header
  • MIPI-CSI camera port
  • micro-SD Card

The TX8M devkit comes in 4 possible configurations, each of which is available to purchase from stock – simply follow the link to our shop.
