“Boot to Qt” with TRITON-TX6

i.MX6 system-on-modules supported platforms for Qt 5 on Linux

Direct Insight now offers support for Qt 5 in its native “Boot to Qt” form with the TRITON-TX6 family of pin-compatible, extended longevity production-ready system-on-modules with mainline Linux.

The TRITON-TX6 range of modules feature support for i.MX6 Solo, Dual Lite and Quad, and offer industrial temperature range support and optional onboard eMMC storage. They belong to the pin-compatible TRITON-TX6 range which now powers hundreds of embedded products, in applications including M2M / IoT, medical devices, industrial automation and instruments, dataloggers, vehicle systems, handhelds and signage/POS.

With our native Qt support package, Linux based developers have access to the most popular user-interface application environment, via Qt Creator, while maintaining the benefit of using the current mainline Linux distribution, rather than a fixed commercial variant. This is achieved by combining a Yocto filesystem with our own kernel support.

Performance is considerably enhanced compared with Qt on X11 and depends on the application, the graphics capability of the targeted i.MX6 family member, and screen resolution and frame rate.
