The TRITON-TXSD SoM is based on Qulacomm’s Snapdragon 410E APQ8016E  SoC processor which features quad 64-bit  ARM Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.2GHz. The module also provides 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM and a 4GB eMMC.  Dedicated multimedia codecs handle video at up to 1080p30 decode and 720p30 encode, and graphics are powered by an 306 3D  accelerator with OpenGL ES 3.0, OpenCL 1.1e (Android) and DirectX 9.3 (Windows 10) support. Capacitive and resistive touch screen displays are supported via an LVDS interface. Additional connectivity offered by the module’s Snapdragon processor include 13MP MIPI camera interface, SD-card, GPIOs and 4 configurable UART/SPI/I2C interfaces.

The 68mm x 24mm SoM also optionally populates the processor chipset’s integral radio offering 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1/LE. An external antenna connection is provided.

TRITON-TXSD comes with Linux, Android (TBC) and Windows 10 IoT Core (TBC) BSPs.  The Snapdragon 410E-based TRITON-TXSD module takes a single 5.0v supply and features 1.8v I/O.

One of the key advantages of the system-on-module approach is rapid time-to-market, and requires a reliable, production-ready BSP, and a ready-to-roll compatible tools setup. For Linux, we supply a pre-configured VM SDK, and for Windows CE, everything is ready to use with Microsoft’s downloadable toolkit.

txmainboardloMainboard-7 provides a complete development environment based on TRITON-TXSD and all the other TRITON-TX family members, running mainline Linux, Android 5.1.1 or Windows 10 IoT Core Pro out-of-the-box. The development system consists of a baseboard which provides 0.1″ headers, plus connectors for all the main module interfaces. Other connectors include USB,  SDCard, CAN, RS-232 and RS-485. The Mainboard-7 offers an optional 640×480 capacitive touch screen, and an LVDS output to enable connection of other screen sizes. For production purposes, you will require a custom baseboard, and we are happy to offer baseboard design and manufacture as a service.

Since the Snapdragon 410E has no Ethernet port, a USB to Ethernet hub is provided with the kit.

TXSD-410E/1200/1GR/4GF/L is the standard SKU for this product – quotation on request. Development kits come with the radio populated, but please bear in mind that this is not a pre-certified solution. Volume modules are usually quoted without radio unless otherwise specified.
