QNX 7.0 on i.MX6 and i.MX8 modules
As ARM processors become more powerful, while retaining the advantages of low-cost and modest energy consumption, they are a target worthy of consideration for QNX-based systems.
Ensuring seamless operation of QNX in new hardware, whether ARM or x86, can never be taken for granted, even if the target processor is listed as supported. For ARM processors, a board support package (or BSP) which is specific to the hardware is required.
By providing and verifying QNX 7.0 support for our TRITON-TX range of i.MX modules (and KaRo TX-modules), we remove this concern for adopters. Because the modules are minimal in their feature-set, mainly providing processor, RAM, persistent storage and power management, a project-specific baseboard can be designed without need to modify the BSP.
In the UK and Ireland, as the official QNX distributor, we provide modules, our own QNX 7.0 BSP and QNX licenses to our customers, as well as total support covering both hardware and OS development. Internationally, we can provide the same service, but customers purchase QNX licences through the local official channel.
The table on our i.MX6 and i.MX8 module summary page provides details of the status of QNX support. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for further information or to access a free evaluation download.
