Ideal for video-processing applications including visualisation and rendering, as well as demanding control applications, The RK3399-Q7 system-on-module from Theobroma Systems is a very high performance ARM-based system with a big.LITTLE configured dual ARM Cortex-A72 and quad ARM Cortex-A53 2GHz-clocked CPU array, with up to 4GB DDR3 RAM, high-throughput on-module eMMC, versatile Mali T864MP4 GPU, and a multi-format 4K-capable video co-processor.
Based on the Qseven standard, the module features a 4-lane PCIe 2.1 interface and dual USB 3.0 ports. Display support includes an HDMI 2.0 port with 4K at 60fps support, as well as MIPI-DSI and up to 4 lane eDP. UART, I2S, I2C and SPI, 8xGPIO as well as CANbus and SD Card are provided. Use the module with the development kit for instant out-of-the-box application development results, and plug in to your own baseboard for a complete industrial solution.
In addition to a comprehensive custom-made Ubuntu Linux BSP, Android support is available. Software-programmable DVFS (digital voltage and frequency scaling) manages power consumption, and low-power suspend-to-RAM is supported.
An on-module ARM Cortex-M0 subsystem offloads communications protocols and allows real-time processing, as well as providing additional features such as CANbus, low-power RTC and watchdog.
The module measures 70 x 70mm, operates from a single 5V supply, and is complemented by a mini-ITX form-factor development baseboard, which ships with Linux pre-installed on microSD card.
