Sophia - Sandgate III-P Development Kit / IP-phone platform based on PXA310 with Windows CE 6.0

The Sandgate 3-P is a complete reference platform for the Marvell PXA310 Xscale microcontroller - the latest device in the PXA series, and the first to feature a dedicated multimedia (video) accelerator for MPEG and H264 decode/encode. The Sandgate 3-P features comprehensive BSPs for Windows CE 6.0, Windows Mobile, and Linux. Full BSP source code and reference board schematics are available, making Sandgate 3-P the ideal starting point for a PXA310 design-in.

The reference kit includes an IP-phone form factor board with 2.2" QVGA TFT LCD, and 802.11b/g WLAN support, as well as IrDA, USB, 1.3MP camera, micro-SD and W-SIM slots, bluetooth and sound. A debug board fits outside the phone form factor and adds JTAG, RS232 and Ethernet.

Completing the development setup, the kit ships with Sophia's EJ-Debug JTAG debug probe, a compact USB-powered unit which works with the supplied Watchpoint debugger, which in turn interacts with tools such as Platform Builder and GDB. The EJ-Debug/Watchpoint combination also permits access to the PXA310's on-chip trace recording, affording the developer powerful debug facilities.
