IAR Embedded Workbench

The product range is based on the IAR Embedded Workbench - a set of development tools for building and debugging embedded applications using assembler, C and C++. A range of low-cost KickStart Kits for ARM, MSP430, M16C, ColdFire and others is available which provide everything needed to get started with a particular microcontroller, including a development board, JTAG probe, and code-size limited IDE.

Integrated development environment
IAR Embedded Workbench provides a completely integrated development environment including a project manager, editor, build tools and the C-SPY debugger. In a continuous workflow, you can create source files and projects, build applications and debug them in a simulator or on hardware.

Compact code
IAR Systems is well known for highly optimized compilers. Every C/C++ compiler contains both generic global optimisations as well as low-level chip-specific optimisations that take advantage of all the specific features of your selected device.

IAR PowerPac is a fully-featured real-time operating system (RTOS) combined with a high performance file system. IAR PowerPac is tightly integrated with IAR Embedded Workbench and comes with sample projects and board support packages for ARM, MSP430 and ColdFire devices.

The IAR PowerPac family now also includes PowerPac File System, PowerPac USB and PowerPac TCP/IP. These products are sold as add-on options to IAR PowerPac RTOS.
