Support for NEC V8xx family devices
Devices:
We offer comprehensive support of all derivatives including the latest
devices: V850, V850E, V851, V852, V853, V854, V805, V810, V82x, V83x.
Summary: The V8xx architecture from NEC is a very high performing
16-bit microcontroller family. It includes a high performance pipelined
RISC core, with excellent real time response - ideal for embedded control
systems.
Direct Insight offers a range of development solutions for NEC's V8xx
architecture, combined with in-depth support from our trained staff.
Low-cost GNU-based Integrated Development Environment: Microcross
Microcross Visual X-Tools is a Professional Integrated Development Environment
(IDE), providing a fully integrated single windows style interface and
build solution that is powered by the world-class, award-winning Visual
SlickEdit and GNU X-Tools. Visual X-Tools is hosted on Linux and Windows
platforms and provides a complete end-to-end integration of GNU X-Tools
with all of Visual SlickEdit features of code editing, syntax coloring,
symbol lookup, code navigation, context tagging, search and replace, C/C++
source beautification, file / source-tree differencing (DIFFzilla), and
a source build environment to compile, link, and execute programs in simulators
or through the GNU debugger while remotely connected to a target CPU via
serial / Ethernet and connected to a BDM / JTAG connection on a development
board.
In-circuit emulator: Sophia
The UniSTAC from Sophia provides full emulation for NEC's V854, V853A,
V852, V851, V850ES/KF1 (/KG1, /KJ1), V850E/MA1 (/MS1), V850/SA1 (/SB1,
/SV1), V832, NB85ET. It incorporates a chip-specific probe, emulation
memory, trace memory, and CPA function into one compact unit. It operates
up to 100 MHz external clock, and uses a SCSI interface to provides high-speed
communication with your host PC.
JTAG emulator: Sophia
The UniSTAC-II/J from Sophia provides on-chip emulation for NEC's V850E/ME2
microcontroller via its N-Wire port. As well as the usual features, this
emulator also incorporates Branch Trace and Flash Programming, all easily
controlled through Sophia's Watchpoint high-level Windows debugger. It
operates up to the CPU's maximum clock speed, and uses a USB interface
to provide high-speed communication with your host PC, and Ethernet for
remote debugging.
Real-Time Operating System: Segger
Segger embOS is a real-time operating system for embedded applications
designed to offer the benefits of a fully fledged multitasking system
at minimum cost. The kernel is fully interruptible and so efficient that
it can be used in very time critical situations. The memory footprint
in both RAM and ROM is so small that it can be used in single-chip applications,
leaving maximum room for the user-program.
Despite its size and efficiency, embOS features the entire palette of communication
mechanisms such as mailboxes, events and different kinds of semaphores.
All tasks and communication instances can be dynamically created, deleted
and configured.
Most importantly, embOS is affordable, royalty-free, and easy to use.
