PXA320 (codename Monahans) is the latest member of the PXA255 and PXA270 family from Marvell, which have become the microcontroller of choice for applications needing multimedia performance combined with low power consumption, running Windows Embedded CE or embedded Linux.

PXA320 and PXA300 modules optimised for Windows CE: SwiftModule-PX

SwiftModule-PX is a tiny production-ready module which is supplied with a comprehensive production-quality Board Support Package (BSP) for Windows CE 6.0.

All that is required to finish your product is a custom baseboard, based on the schematics that we supply, including the interfaces that your product requires. Plug in the module, configure and install the BSP, load your application and you're done.

SwiftModule-PX measures just 60mm x 40mm (2.4"  x 1.6") and is built around a Marvell PXA320 (or PXA300) XScale microcontroller running at up to 806MHz, and providing a wide range of on-chip interfaces. Up to 256MB of SDRAM, and up to 1GB of NAND Flash as well as power management, Ethernet, audio, and optional Wi-Fi* complete the system-on-module. Built-in interfaces include USB device and host, UARTs, SD/MMC, CompactFlash, I2S, AC'97, SSP and 800x600 display controller.  The SwiftKit development system includes a directly connected 7" 800x480 touch-screen display.

PXA320 modules optimised for Linux: TRITON
Our TRITON-320 module and StarterKit-4 development systems combine an out-of-the-box development solution for PXA320 with production quality module and Board Support Packages (BSPs) for Windows CE 6.0 or embedded Linux 2.6.x, allowing you to get to market in double-quick time by designing in our platform rather than starting from scratch.

The TRITON-320 is even smaller than its market leading cousin the TRITON-270 measuring just 68mm x 26mm . This plugs into the StarterKit-4, which provides connectors for the PXA320 application processor's extensive on-chip peripheral set, as well as adding interfaces such Ethernet, Video DAC and AC'97 audio/touchscreen controller.

The development setup comes with either Windows CE 6.0 or Linux installed, with an optional WVGA touch-screen monitor.

For production, you simply design your own baseboard with the necessary connectors, and modify the supplied production-quality BSP to suit your interfaces. Or we can do this work for you.

PXA320 reference designs: Sophia Sandgate-III
Sandgate III is our new reference platform for PXA320. Like Intel's own reference designs such as Zylonite, this reference design ships as a full DVK including a working board with all schematics and BSP source codes supplied. However, the Sandgate III is a compact, highly integrated and professionally supported design intended to allow you to get your own development underway at maximum speed. It is also an ideal generic platform to get your application development started.

The standard Sandgate-III includes an integrated VGA touch-screen, and a wide range of interfaces including Audio, SD/Memory Stick, CF, SIM, IrDA, RS-232C, USB 2.0, USB 1.1, LAN, JTAG. New to the Sandgate-III design are an integrated hard-disk drive, S-Video I/O and an on-board WLAN module (802.11a/b/g), as well as the integration of NAND-Flash made possible by the PXA320 memory controller.

PXA320 JTAG Emulator: Sophia EJ-SCT

EJ-SCT is a USB-powered probe that connects to the target's JTAG port and provides a high-speed debug connection. It ships with the powerful Watchpoint debugger, which in turn interoperates with both Platform Builder and GDB to provide a Windows CE or Linux-friendly solution. EJ-SCT includes eXDI 2 support for Windows CE 6.0 targets are fully supported.
