Processors - M16C Microcontroller from Renesas (Mitsubishi)Devices: Summary: Direct Insight offers a comprehensive selection of tools
and solutions for Renesas M16C architectures. Highlights: Integrated Development Environment: Tasking The recently updated TASKING compiler for the M16C family of microcontrollers brings very high levels of performance and code output quality to the software engineer. Full C++ Support and very fast floating point implementation are of particular note. Integrating the latest VIPER compiler technology, and the RTOS-aware Crossview PRO debugger, the Tasking M16C toolset is in a league of its own in terms of compactness and performance of generated code, as well as ease of use. Real Time Operating System: CMX-RTX CMX RTX is the best-known RTOS for the Mitsubishi M16C, and provides a compact, highly extensible kernel for the M16C family. A fully integrated TCP/IP stack is available, along with task aware debug modules for a high level of abstraction in the debug framework. Low-cost RTOS: Segger emBOS embOS is a tiny, fast kernel designed to bring the benefits of a fully-fledged RTOS in a very low-cost package. embOS is supplied royalty-free, with full source code. A TCP/IP stack is available. Device Programmer: Segger Flasher Flasher from Segger is a very low cost Mitsubishi device programmer. Various configurations are available for both in-circuit and offline programming of your M16C derivative. In-circuit Emulator: Sophia HyperSTAC HyperSTAC is a state-of-the-art ICE for Mitsubishi's 32-bit microcontroller. The emulator connects to the PC host via USB or LAN, and via the powerful Watchpoint debugger provides full source level debug and built in trace capability. HyperSTAC is a real-time debug system for processor speeds from 0 to 30MHz.
