Freescale i.MX53 solutions
Freescale's lastest applications processor is the 1000MHz ARM Cortex-A8 based i.MX53. Equipped with an enhanced PowerVR graphics system with OpenGL ES 2.0, and a dedicated video codec capable of 1080p decode and 720p encode, and an HD-capable display controller, the i.MX53 is a versatile microcontroller family for the most demanding multimedia-rich applications which may include video capture and display and sophisticated graphics. Power consumption is in the 1W handheld class. iMX53 is an ideal platform for security, medical, point-of-sale and signage applications, as well as multimedia-rich handheld devices. The enhanced graphics capability makes i.MX53 is an ideal platform for applications using Microsoft's Silverlight Embedded UI which provides multitouch and gesture support.
Production-ready System-on-Module: TRITON-TX53
Time-to-market and engineering costs can be reduced by an order of magnitude by designing in a production-ready module rather than starting a design from scratch. If your production volumes are thousands, hundreds, or less, the commercial argument for using a SOM is compelling. By providing good, production-ready board support packages, as well as minimising the hardware design task, time-to-market may be reduced to as little as 6-8 weeks.
TRITON-TX53 is a 200-pin SODIMM, measuring just 31mm x 68mm. As well as an i.MX535 or i.MX537 device, it features up to 2GB DDR667 RAM and 128MB NAND Flash, power management, RTC and USB and Ethernet PHY. Linux and Windows Embedded Compact 7 BSPs are provided.
JTAG probe with ETM support: Sophia Systems EJ-SCT
Sophia's EJ-SCT is a powerful, USB-powered probe with full i.MX53 support including ETM trace. The included Watchpoint debugger has an optional Platform Builder interface including Windows Embedded Compact 7 hardware-assisted debug support.
Board Support Package: i.MX53 Quick Start Board
In conjunction with our partners Adeneo Embedded, we offer BSP services, including driver development, for both Linux and Windows Embedded Compact 7, based on the Freescale i.MX53 QSB and other platforms including StarterKit-5.
