Support for Altera Excalibur ARM-based family devices
Devices:
As well as tools support for Altera Excalibur cores - NIOS and ARM9, we
offer cores from Altium within the Nexar toolsuite, including 8051, PIC165
and Z80 processors and peripherals.
Summary:
As FPGA densities increase, it becomes increasingly viable to implement
embedded systems by running a pre-synthesized processor within the programmable
device. New technologies also allow embedded engineers to directly implement
dataflow algorithms in FPGA logic. As experts in both embedded design
and FPGA design, we are specialists in supporting this fusion of technologies.
Highlights:
C to Hardware Compiler Technology: Impulse
Impulse CoDeveloper allows you to develop algorithms in
ANSI C, and implement them directly in Altera FPGAs including Stratix and
Cyclone. CoDeveloper automatically generates synthesis-ready VHDL, as well
as creating interfaces to embedded processors including Nios and Nios II.
Sounds too good to be true? Visit our CoDeveloper pages, where you can see
live demos, and download sample projects and benchmarks - we guarantee that
the technology behind this product will take your breath away.
VX-toolset for Nios II: TASKING
The TASKING VX-toolset for the Nios II
brings to developers the power of Altium’s sophisticated, next-generation
Viper C compiler technology framework, allowing them to take full advantage
of the popular FPGA-based Nios II embedded processor from Altera. With
its Viper technology, the TASKING VX-toolset for Nios II is able to generate
code with the level of execution speed and code density needed for tomorrow’s
automotive, industrial and communications applications. The Nios II compiler
features state-of-the-art capabilities such as MISRA C code checking,
profiling through code instrumentation and run-time error checking. The
TASKING VX-toolset for Nios II comprises:
- Plug-in for Eclipse based IDE from Altera
- Viper-based C compiler
- Assembler with macro-preprocessor
- C libraries, run-time libraries, floating-point libraries
- Linker and locator
The toolset provides a perfect ‘drop in’ replacement for
the GNU based compiler provided with Altera’s Nios II Integrated
Development Environment, offering significantly better performance
on code speed and density.
The C compiler included in the TASKING VX-toolset for Nios II is
also included as part of Altium Designer, available separately from
Altium. Altium Designer is the industry’s first and only unified
design system that incorporates all the technologies and capabilities
necessary for complete electronic product development. Altium Designer
brings together hardware, programmable hardware and software design
within a single, unified design environment, and can significantly
speed application development by fully harnessing the potential of
large-scale programmable devices.
Low-cost RTOS : Segger
embOS
embOS is a real-time operating system for embedded applications designed
to offer the benefits of a fully fledged multitasking system at minimum
cost. The kernel is fully interruptible, and so efficient that it can
be used in very time critical situations. The memory footprint in both
RAM and ROM is so small that it can be used in single-chip applications,
leaving maximum room for the user-program.
embOS is supplied on a royalty-free basis, with source code. An optional
TCP/IP stack is available.
ROM Monitor Debugger for NIOS: Sophia
Supporting NIOS 2.0, 2.1 and 3.0 cores, the Sophia WatchPoint Debugger
provides a powerful alternative toolset for developers using all NIOS
variants.
JTAG emulator for Excalibur ARM922T: EPI
Majic
EPI provides the Majic and MajicPlus processor probes and
the EDB debug software for use with the Excalibur ARM embedded processor
solutions from Altera. The MAJIC emulator provides a high-speed hardware
interface between processors with an on-chip debugging interface and
industry standard debuggers, and the MajicPlus interface adds external
trace capture via the ARM ETM functionality. |
