PXA310 is the latest member of the family from Marvell encompassing PXA270 and PXA320, which have become the microcontroller of choice for applications needing multimedia performance combined with low power consumption, running Windows Embedded CE or embedded Linux. PXA310 offers a dedicated hardware-implemented video codec providing VGA and D1 support for H264 and MPEG-4.

PXA310 reference designs: Sophia Sandgate III-P
Sandgate III-P is our reference platform for PXA310. Based on an IP-Phone form factor, plus external debug board, this reference design ships as a full DVK including a working board with all schematics and BSP source codes supplied.
The reference kit includes 2.2" QVGA TFT LCD, and 802.11b/g WLAN support, as well as IrDA, USB, 1.3MP camera, micro-SD and W-SIM slots, bluetooth and sound. The debug board fits outside the phone form factor and adds JTAG, RS232 and Ethernet.
OS support for Sandgate III-P includes Windows Embedded CE 6.0 and Windows Mobile 6.0.
JTAG debug for Windows CE 6.0 and Linux: Sophia EJ-Debug
EJ-Debug is a USB-powered probe that connects to the target's JTAG port and provides a high-speed debug connection. It ships with the powerful Watchpoint debugger, which in turn interoperates with both Platform Builder and GDB to provide a Windows CE or Linux-friendly solution. EJ-Debug includes eXDI 2 support for Windows CE 6.0 targets are fully supported. EJ-Debug is also unique in supporting XScale trace for PXA320.
