Venturcom becomes Ardence, updates ReadyOn instant-on solution

Expanded Windows Operating System support

Ardence, formerly known as Venturcom, has updated ReadyOn, its "instant-on" solution for Windows XP embedded devices.

ReadyOn 1.2 brings true instant-on, instant-off capability to Windows XP and XP Embedded, a feature vital in many applications, including retail devices and consumer products.

New features in ReadyOn 1.2 include a customizable splash-screen for OEM users, as well as expanded Operating System support for Windows 2000, Server 2003 and hard drives. New support for "ghosting" means that once a ReadyOn image has been defined, it can be readily copied to target systems.

Other leading products from Ardence, a Microsoft Gold Embedded Partner, include RTX, the real-time extension for Windows XPe, and the Phar-Lap ETS x86 RTOS, which provides a Win32 API.
