TRITON Modules Support Windows Embedded CE 6.0

# #

November 1st will see the availability of a production quality TRITON-270 / StarterKit-3 BSP for Microsoft’s widely anticipated new operating system, Windows Embedded CE 6.0, to coincide with the launch of the new OS on November 1st 2006.

The tiny TRITON-270 module, based on the Intel/Marvell PXA270 processor, already powers many handheld and industrial devices using Windows CE 5.0. Measuring just 68mm x 31mm, and consuming under 500mW, the module provides a rapid route to market by combining ready-made cost-effective hardware with a complete, production ready Board Support Package. The addition of Windows Embedded CE 6.0 support will allow customers to begin to use Microsoft’s latest OS version and tools straight away.

The new BSP also supports the StarterKit-3, which provides a complete development environment, and is supplied with schematics to facilitate the creation of a custom baseboard for production.

Modules are available equipped with 520MHz or 312MHz PXA270 devices, with up to 128MB of low-power mobile SDRAM, and up to 64MB of Intel P30 Flash. Supported interfaces include Ethernet, VGA touch-screen, audio, MMC, SD card, USB host and device, RS232, SSP, camera, I2C and JTAG.

Direct Insight provides support and training throughout Europe for users adopting Microsoft Windows Embedded Operating Systems.
