New PXA270 reference targets handheld Wi-Fi VoIP
The new Sandgate II-P Development Board from Sophia is a unique WiFi VoIP reference design based on the Intel PXA270 XScale processor. This reference board enables you to develop application software concurrently with hardware, greatly reducing your overall system development time. Complementing the Intel PXA270 processor, the Sandgate II-P reference design includes all the peripherals necessary for the development of WiFi VoIP devices. The Sandgate II-P DVK's compact design makes for an excellent design base for your actual system. The CD-ROM included with the board provides a source-code board support package for Windows CE 5.0 and some demo software for reference. Schematics, part list, CPLD code (source and binary) are all included, so development and customization is easy. There is a JTAG port for debugging code and the combination of Sandgate II-P and Sophia's EJ-Debug JTAG emulator, provides on-chip debugging capability. The Sandgate II-P includes 64MB SDRAM and 128MB Flash. The PXA270 processor runs at 624MHz with a bus speed of 104MHz. A 802.11b/g wireless LAN module is included, and there is an audio codec, IrDA port, USB Device, as well as a 1.3Mpixel camera amd 2.2" QVGA 256k colour LCD. RS232, Ethernet and the JTAG port are provided via a breakout board, and an optional expansion kit adds a 3.8" VGA touch-screen LCD, keyboard and USB host.
