1.5 GHz OMAP4460 powers world’s most powerful SODIMM module

SwiftModule-4460 development system with touch screen We are days away from the first shipments of SwiftModule-4460, a 68 x 39mm SODIMM module based on TI’s OMAP4460 processor, with dual ARM Cortex-A9 cores running at up to 1.5GHz. SwifModule-4460 is a tiny, energy-efficient, production-ready system-on-module (SOM) offering enormous processing power with comprehensive production-quality Board Support Packages (BSP) for Linux and Android. The module also provides 512MB or 1024MB LPDDR2 RAM, an 8MB microSD Card, Gigabit Ethernet, optional WiFi+ Bluetooth support, and a wide range of connectivity including USB, I2C, HDMI, up to WUXGA display, serial, GPIO, SPI, Audio, Cameras and touch screen.

The extraordinary processing power of the dual core OMAP4460 device is supplemented by dual NEON SIMD engines which also provide floating point support, as well as a video processing subsystem capable of 1080p HD decode and encode. A PowerVR graphics engine supports a range of 2D and 3D standards including Open GL ES 2.0.

For development purposes, SwiftModule-4460 plugs into the SwiftLite-4460 breakout board providing a complete development system which runs Android 2.3.6 or Linux 2.6 out of the box, and adding further connectivity such as SATA and LVDS.

We are accepting orders for the SwiftLite-4460 with 1.2GHz/1024MB SwiftModule-4460 for November 2011 delivery.

Please see our SwiftModule-4460 page for further details.
