Sophia Systems has enhanced the Sandgate 3-P PXA310 Reference, creating a comprehensive "Solution Set" extended development kit, including on-chip debugging via the integration of Sophia's EJ-Debug JTAG hardware assist unit for PXA320, PXA310, and PXA300 working with Microsoft's Visual Studio/Platform Builder 6.0 OS development environment.
The Sandgate3-P PXA310 hardware is optimized for handheld OS standards such as Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0 and Windows Mobile 6. Sandgate3-P is used for wireless handheld, IP-phones, and various other mobile electronic products.
The EJ-Debug/JTAG hardware assist unit with Watchpoint Debugger is equipped with advanced functions such as source level debugging, branch trace reconstruction and access to specific functions of the PXA built-in register sets via a special window. Additional functions for directly downloading to flash ROM (including NAND Flash) are provided. EJ-Debug can support debugging within the various OS development environments, such as Visual Studio/Platform Builder. The compact EJ-Debug unit is connected to the host PC and powered via USB.
Sandgate3-P is built with the cooperation of a number of software/middleware makers and parts manufacturers. This development platform permits the engineer to simultaneously develop hardware and software, thereby achieving overall development time reductions.
Important applications of Sandgate3-P include the development and evaluation of handheld terminals or IP phones, and also the development and evaluation of applications software and middleware, research and development of User Interface (UI) technology, field verification of mobile phones & handheld terminals, and systems development & verification, as well as practical evaluation and demonstrators for handheld terminals aimed at enterprise applications.
