FlashCORE programmers get microcontroller support
Fast programming architecture widens its scope
FlashCORE, the ultra-high-speed architecture underlying Data I/O's ProLINE-RoadRunner
automated in-line programming system, PS300FC high-speed offline handler
and FlashPAK desktop programming system, is to support microcontroller
devices from May 2003, it has been announced.
Analysts estimate that by 2005 the average person will come into contact
with more than 300 microcontrollers a day. Home appliances, automobiles,
office climate control, networking, security and phone systems increasingly
rely on embedded microcontrollers as the "brains" behind their functionality.
Dramatic increases in microcontroller use through 2005 will require superior
programming and handling technology in prototyping and manufacturing these
products.
FlashCORE products have already revolutionised the world of manufacturing
flash-based products, with hundreds of millions of cellphones, set-top
boxes, games machines and other high-volume products programmed using
this technology.
