IAR completes ARM toolset with RTOS, USB and TCP/IP componentsEmbedded Workbench 5.11 supports Cortex-M1, ARM11, increases BSP coverage IAR's latest version of Embedded Workbench for ARM extends support of PowerPac - an integrated middleware family that combines a small memory footprint RTOS, a versatile file system and a USB device stack - to dozens of new microcontrollers and boards. IAR PowerPac is tightly integrated with IAR Embedded Workbench and comes with sample projects and board support packages for ARM devices from different manufacturers such asAtmel (including AT91SAM9260), ST Micro, Freescale, Luminary, NXP (including LPC2468, LPC3180), and others. ARM core support extends to ARM7, ARM9, ARM9E, ARM10E, ARM11, SecurCore, Cortex M1, Cortex M3, and XScale. IAR PowerPac RTOS is a priority controlled real-time operating system, designed to be used as the foundation for development of embedded real-time applications. It is optimized for minimum memory consumption in both RAM and ROM, as well as high speed and versatility. The PowerPac USB add-on makes adding a USB device stack to your existing application really easy. The application areas are portable devices that need an easy connection to a PC - such as camera, an MP3 player, a modem or a PC keyboard. The USB device stack has a small footprint, it is pre-integrated and follows the “low-risk” price model of IAR PowerPac . IAR PowerPac File System is an MS-DOS/MS-Windows compatible FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32 embedded file system that can be used for any storage medium for which basic hardware access functions are available. In addition to the RTOS and middleware functionality, Embedded Workbench offers powerful debug capabilities for all ARM processors, via its own J-Link JTAG probe, which also provides Flash programming for most devices. Evaluation versions of Embedded Workbench can be downloaded via our website. See our Embedded Workbench pages for further details.
