Ardence Launches Phar-Lap ETS 13.0Compact Win32 RTOS has many enhancements Ardence has announced version 13.0 of its Windows API compatible small footprint RTOS, ETS. Amongst several new features, the number of levels of priority has been increased from 32 to 256 allowing developers finer-grain control over ETS-based systems and the TCP/IP stack has been enhanced to include IP multi-cast support. At the same time TCP/IP zero-copy buffering has been added to provide faster packet processing between ETS applications and the network interface in the system. Kernel-level memory protection allows certain ranges of memory to be excluded from ETS access, via the paging features of the x86 processor. Other new features include an update to the flash file system, Intel Gigabit Ethernet support and validation for platforms supporting the PCI-X bus architecture, as well as many bug-fixes. The update is available from Direct Insight now for users with a valid support and update contract. For more information, see our ETS pages.
