Blackhawk enhances bus-powered XDS560 probe
High speed USB probe for TI DSP improved
Blackhawk has introduced an enhanced version of its XDS560-class bus-powered JTAG emulator. The USB560BP now has a 20-pin cTI (compact TI) JTAG header for increased compatibility to existing and future TI development hardware. The new header supports the system reset signal (JTAG pin #15, nSRST) that is now driven by the advanced reset menu in CCStudio v3.3. The emulator pod electronics have also been updated to support the XDS560 Revision ‘D’ cable features that include, but are not limited to; adaptive clocking and EMU boot modes of newer ARM-based OMAP and DAVINCI devices.
Other standard features include a variable test clock (TCK) running up to 50 MHz, high-speed real time data exchange (HS-RTDX), advanced event triggering, and a highly flexible JTAG cable suitable for use from 5.0 volts down to 0.5 volts to support the TI low-voltage device roadmap. The new 20-pin cTI header replaces the legacy 14-pin JTAG header and will permit connection to newer development hardware such as DAVINCI. But in support of legacy devices, an adapter for 14-pin targets is included at no additional cost. The USB560BP is small, lightweight and does not require any external power. Weighing less than 5 ounces, the USB560BP is extremely well suited for travel and use with notebook computers. Without the need to supply external power, packing the USB560BP for use in the field requires only a USB cable.
The Blackhawk USB560BP supports TMS320 DSPs, TMS470 (ARM families, OMAP platforms, and the new DaVinci Technology from TI. It is compatible with the TI Code Composer Studio (CCStudio) integrated development environment (IDE), v2.2 and later, as well as the CCStudio flashburn plug-in utilities. USB device drivers are included with emulator to support Windows 2000/XP/Vista (32-bit version) and XP/Vista (64-bit versions).
