Venturcom's RTX 6.0 adds USB SDK

Venturcom announces the release of new features and enhancements to its market leading real-time extensions for Windows and application software development tool suite, RTX. New features and functionality introduced in RTX v6.0 include extending RTX's extensive capabilities to speed development of embedded systems through support of new advanced HALs, as well as an RTX USB 1.1/2.0 SDK.

Most new PC platforms take advantage of the advanced programmable interrupt controller (APIC) mode enabling more interrupt lines for better overall system configuration management and reliable performance. RTX v6.0 now supports the APIC HAL resulting in the elimination of clock drift and the reduction of bus bandwidth utilisation. This can lead to a 20% improvement in both RTX and application performance.

The addition of the RTX USB v1.0 SDK, with support for both USB 1.1 and 2.0, greatly expands the ability of RTX to address a larger set of embedded system requirements. The RTX USB SDK provides support for both host and client functionality. Developers can now develop their own custom USB device drivers to their own specification using the RTX SDK.
